QuoteWhen I was a little girl, I use to tell my mom that I was going to adopt a baby someday. This is my path, and I think I’ve always known it. When Dan and I began researched open adoption, I felt such peace. We couldn’t be more excited to grow our family through open adoption.‪#‎danandalissaadopt‬ ‪#‎hopingtoadopt‬ ‪#‎openadoption‬ ‪#‎adoption‬

His or Her Family Tree

familytreeOur someday baby will have the most beautiful family tree. It will have roots, branches, trees that will grow near, and some that will intertwine. He or she will be loved fully by all because love is so much more than blood.‪#‎danandalissaadopt‬ ‪#‎adoption‬ ‪#‎openadoption‬ ‪#‎adoptionislove‬‪#‎hopingtoadopt‬ ‪#‎waitingfamily‬

Baby Room Masterpieces

BabyRoomLittle by little, we’ve been collecting and hanging art in our someday baby’s room. There are some cute trendy and things, but our goal was to also decorate with famous artworks too. Someday we hope to share bedtime stories about the masterpieces to educate and inspire his or her growing mind.

P.S. This wall is still a work in progress 🙂

What’s Open Adoption

openadoptionA lot of people have asked us what open adoption means. Here’s an infographic that outlines a few types.

Our level of open adoption will be decided between the birth parents and us. We chose open adoption for more reasons than I can list. When it comes down to it, we would love for our future child to know his or her roots and to know he or she is loved by more than our extended family and us, but by his or her birth family too.

Happy National Adoption Month!
